The Beginning…

In April and May of 2021, the Kilkenny County Council commissioned Turley consultants to work with the Urlingford community in a collaborative Health Check process, that aimed to identify priorities/opportunities to include in a future town plan. Following this process, Turley published the Urlingford Town Plan. 

Included in this plan was the need to set up a Town Team, one responsible for the implementation of the priorities outlined in the Plan.

In response to a request from Kilkenny County Council, a group of interested individuals voluntarily came together to form the Urlingford Town Team. Since June 2022, we have become incorporated as a company limited by guarantee, Urlingford Town Team CLG.

Vision:

The Urlingford Town Team envisions Urlingford as a sustainable community that is an Attractive, Safe, Prosperous, Inclusive, Respectful and Empowering place to grow up and grow old. We A.S.P.I.R.E. to create a brighter future for Urlingford.

Mission:

The Urlingford Town Team as representatives of the local community, guided by the Sustainable Development Goals as set out in Agenda 2030, and by the Kilkenny County Council’s new Masterplan for Urlingford, will work with key partners in an open, transparent, and collaborative way, to create a cohesive community that is well resourced from an economic, social, cultural, recreational, and environmental perspective, and that people are proud to call home.
